LAND RUN CAPTION
A free font from Land Run Marketing, Oklahoma City

WHAT THIS IS
Forty-five glyphs (A-Z, 0-9, and . , - ! ' " & parentheses) traced letter
by letter from handwritten captions on Bain News Service glass-plate news
negatives held at the Library of Congress, anchored by two Oklahoma plates
captioned "Land Rush, Okl." and "Land Office, Okl." One pen throughout.
Nothing was invented or redrawn. Caps only; typing lowercase gives you
capitals.

A note on dates: the Library of Congress records no date for the two
Oklahoma plates. The plates in this set that do carry catalog dates run
from about 1910 to 1920. The first land run was 1889. This pen wrote
later, about the country the run made.

VERSION
v1.4. Designer of record. The font now names Morgan Tepsic as designer and
Land Run Marketing as manufacturer, and the copyright reads for both, so the
binary matches every directory listing. Metadata only: no letterform changed
from v1.3, and the file installs over it cleanly.

v1.3. The description inside the font called both anchor plates land rush
negatives. One of them is a land office. Metadata only: no letterform
changed from v1.2, and the file installs over it cleanly.

v1.2. U, V, and W were retraced from the Dore plate's thin pen, so they
match the weight of the rest of the alphabet. V and W previously came
from the Gov. Williams plate.
